Frontier Communications (Nasdaq: FTR) has announced improvements to its residential broadband service in Fort Wayne. The company says the changes are part of a $250 million upgrade. September 8, 2014

News Release

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Frontier Communications (NASDAQ: FTR) just announced enhanced broadband speeds are now available to its FiOS serviceable footprint in Fort Wayne.

“Frontier has spent nearly $250 million to upgrade and enhance our Indiana network over the last few years, with the most recent investment in our FiOS network bringing even higher broadband speeds to our residential customers,” Indiana Senior Vice President and General Manager Greg Stephens said. “Broadband plays an increasingly important role in providing information, education and entertainment. Communities have started asking for higher speeds for gaming and high-tech applications, and Frontier is committed to fulfilling those needs.”

“Frontier’s enhanced FiOS broadband network now offers speeds up to 100 megabits per second (Mbps) to FiOS serviceable residential areas in Fort Wayne,” said Dan Sullivan, General Manager for Frontier in Fort Wayne. “This is a very significant upgrade that allows customers to have the bandwidth they want for video sharing and conferencing, watching several HD streams simultaneously and high-performance gaming with multiple users.”

Sullivan encouraged residents to call 1-800-921-8101 toll free for information about service options for faster speeds. Residential customers ordering FiOS® internet from Frontier for the first time can get speeds up to 30Mbps for just $19.99 per month with a qualifying phone service, Sullivan added. The no-contract offer provides a two-year price guarantee for broadband service. Speeds up to 100Mbps are available starting at just $74.99 per month with qualifying phone service, and customers have the opportunity to bundle broadband service with telephone and television services and realize substantial savings.
