"Employee #4" at Google’s AdWords Ad Operations team is marking the 10-year anniversary of launching her Indianapolis-based marketing agency. During an interview on a special edition of Inside INdiana Business focusing on entrepreneurial women, Found Search + Marketing Managing Partner Julie Warnecke says her company has created a culture where it is "as easy as possible" for women to enter, stay and grow in the work force. Warnecke says working at Google in the company’s early years helped show her how to organize and scale a business, and gave her problem-solving and hiring lessons she takes into the field today. Warnecke was on Google’s AdWords team from its inception and says FoundSM’s core expertise is still in the paid search world.
Over the years, the company has grown to include a full portfolio of marketing services, including pay-per-click, search engine optimization, email marketing and web development. FoundSM is a certified Google Partner and manages a total annual AdWords and Paid Social spend of $50-60 million.
In addition to Warnecke, the company’s chief executive officer, chief operating officer and chief financial officer are all women. "I think definitely at Google, whether you were a man or a woman, it was really an inclusive environment and at Found, we really wanted to build that," Warnecke said. "At Found, we want everyone to feel like they are included and their contributions are important."
Its Indiana-based and global clients are in industries such as education, health care and home services. The company offers benefits including paid maternity leave in an effort to attract women to and keep women in the tech-driven work force.
