Our partners at the Daily Journal report Sunbeam Development Corp. wants to add the acreage to its existing 491-acre tract.
The developer has already constructed one warehouse in the commerce park with plans to build several more ranging in size from 500,000 square feet to over 1 million square feet.
The publication says the rezoning proposal was approved with several conditions aimed to shield nearby residents from lights and noise from the development.
The Daily Journal says nearby residents voiced opposition to the project. They are concerned about lighting, noise, traffic and the impact on their rural lifestyle.
The paper says the residents still have some hope that their concerns will be heard by the city council when the proposal is introduced on July 19. A public hearing is scheduled for August 2.
