Franklin College Details Presidential Inauguration Events

Minar previously served as vice president of development and alumni relations at American University in Washington D.C.
Organizers say the four days of events will begin April 8 and have activities covering the theme "Thinking Forward… Embracing New Dimensions." It will involve several free, public events, including:
- Inauguration Symposium- April 8 from 1:30-4:45 p.m. at the Napolitan Student Center. It will feature moderator Southern Vermont College President David Evans. Speakers include: PBS NewsHour political analyst Mark Shields, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Chief Executive Officer Scott McCorkle and Association of American Colleges and Universities Senior Vice President of Academic Planning and Public Engagement Debra Humphreys.
- Inauguration Ceremony- April 9 at 11 a.m. at the Spurlock Center Gymnasium
- Community Worship Service- April 10 at 11 a.m. at Richardson Chapel.
Minar officially took office July 1 and has launched what his office says is "anticipated to be the college’s most comprehensive strategic planning process to date." His goals include continued growth in academic excellence, engaged community-based learning and increased diversity.
The college was founded in 1834.
