Mishawaka-based Franciscan Alliance has finalized the purchase of Jasper County Hospital. The hospital, now named Franciscan Health Rensselaer, becomes the 14th hospital Franciscan operates in Indiana and Illinois.

The Jasper County Hospital Board of Trustees, Jasper County Board of Commissioners and the Jasper County Council all voted unanimously in favor of entering into an asset purchase agreement with Franciscan Alliance in June. 

"We are excited to become a part of the Franciscan family," said Tim Schreeg, vice president and chief operating officer for Franciscan Health. "Our employees have been working very hard to provide care for our community as well as prepare for the transition. We know there are a lot of changes that will be coming, but through it all, we and the Franciscan team are committed to providing quality care here in this community."

Jasper County Hospital employees are now employees of Franciscan Health Rensselaer.
