Franciscan Opens New Lafayette Patient Tower

Mishawaka-based Franciscan Health is celebrating the opening of a $60 million patient tower in Tippecanoe County. The health system has begun moving patients into the new 106,000-square-foot West Tower at Franciscan Health Lafayette East.
Officials broke ground on the facility in 2016. The West Tower includes 52 new patient beds and many of the hospital’s serves have been relocated to or expanded within it, including the Advanced Wound Healing Center, and expanded Outpatient Center, a new Cancer Center, Sleep Disorders Center and Franciscan Physician Network Oncology and Hematology Specialist.
The facility also has space for inpatient rehabilitation, an inpatient medical and surgical unit, medical and surgical overflow and palliative care suites. The relocation of some services to the West Tower will continue over the next few weeks.
