Franciscan Alliance has been awarded a nearly $1.6 million federal grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. The funding will support medically-assisted treatment for patients addicted to opioids at Franciscan Health hospitals in Marion and Lake counties.
Franciscan Health Foundation has partnered with Prevention Insights, part of the Indiana University School of Public Health, on the project.
“This partnership is yet another illustration of how a university like IU can leverage its scholarly resources to help a healthcare system address our national addictions crisis,” said Jon Agley, deputy director of research at Prevention Insights, in a news release.
The grant has a three-year period that begins immediately and will continue through March 2022.
