Foundation, Schools in Marion to Partner For STEM
Officials from Fort Wayne-based Indiana Michigan Power will make an announcement Friday afternoon regarding a dual-credit program for students interested in STEM education and careers. The event at the Ivy Tech Community College Marion Campus will include Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann.
Representatives from Marion Community Schools will also take part in this afternoon’s event.
I&M will lead a grant presentation on behalf of the AEP Foundation, which is the charitably initiative of parent company Ohio-based American Electric Power Inc. (NYSE: AEP). The funding will support Credits Count, an initiative that works with students to explore science, technology, engineering and math fields while earning credits toward post-secondary certificates or degrees.
The announcement is set for Friday at 3:30 p.m.
