Foundation Grants Surpass $1 Million

Subscribe NowThe Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County says it awarded more than $1 million in grants to area nonprofits in 2017. The organization says the funding supported arts and culture, community betterment, economic development, education and human services projects.
More than $2.1 million in funding was requested from nonprofits throughout the year. The foundation awards grants quarterly and the requests are reviewed by a committee of 12 volunteers, which make recommendations to the foundation’s board of directors.
The 2017 grant recipients include:

- Alliance for Strategic Growth, Inc. – $20,000
- Masterworks Chorale – $4,500
- Back To School Teachers Store, Inc. – $14,281
- Motivate Our Minds, Inc. – $20,000
- Big Brothers/Big Sisters – $10,000
- Muncie Action Plan – $15,000
- Boys and Girls Club of Muncie – $17,000
- Muncie Arts and Culture Council, Inc. – $27,450
- Bridges Community Services Inc. – $13,700
- Muncie Civic Theatre Association – $75,000
- BSU – Department of Technology – $6,000
