Foundation Awards Grants to Fort Wayne Area Nonprofits

The Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne has announced nearly $1.2 million in grants during the last quarter of 2015. The largest recipients include the Boys and Girls Club of Fort Wayne, Fort Wayne Civic Theatre and The Carriage House.
The full list from the foundation is:
Artlink – $5,000 – Exhibits and educational programs
Boys and Girls Club of Fort Wayne – $45,000 – Youth development programs
Cornerstone Youth Center -$15,000 – Youth development programs for all youth in grades 7-12
Easter Seals ARC of Northeast Indiana – $15,000 – Employment and job training opportunities
Fort Wayne Civic Theatre – $35,000 – Community theatre for the 2015-2016 season
Fort Wayne Cinema Center – $5,000 – Showcase film as an art form
The Carriage House – $40,000 – Programs assisting adults with serious mental illness to live independently and work in the community
Mental Health America – $20,000 – Client advocacy services
Salvation Army – $20,000 – Social services
SCAN – $25,000 – Family Preservation Program
Summit Equestrian Center – $7,500 – Therapeutic riding lessons for people with disabilities
Volunteer Center @ RSVP – $25,000 – Volunteer community service program
The foundation was established in 1922 and in 2014 awarded a total of nearly $5 million.
