The Indianapolis-based Lacy Foundation has named Rebecca King program director for the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series. She has served as the CEO of Theater of Inclusion in Indianapolis since 2000. May 5, 2014

News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Jill S. Lacy, President of The Lacy Foundation, has announced that Rebecca King is the new Program Director for the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series (SKL). She succeeds Sarah Hawkins.

Rebecca is a graduate of SKL Class XXXVII. Since 2000, she has served as the CEO of Theater of Inclusion, a company that develops and implements community engagement projects using the arts. Rebecca's work has focused on developing programs that engage people in creative place-making activities, and encourages them to reflect upon their role in the community.

“We are very excited to have Rebecca lead the SKL series as we approach our fourth decade of the program. As a class graduate, she has a unique perspective as to how the moderator and our guest speakers engage the class members on the issues facing our community. As an established entrepreneur and her expertise in curriculum creation, SKL, and the entire Leadership Indianapolis organization will benefit from her wisdom and experience,” Lacy said.

In 1998, Rebecca graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Dance from Point Park College in Pittsburgh. After graduation she danced with The Repertory Project in Cleveland before returning home to Indianapolis in 2000.

In 2004, she received the Indiana Governor's Award for Tomorrow's Leaders from the Indiana Humanities Council, and in 2005 at the age of 27 the Indianapolis Business Journal selected her as one of its Forty Under 40. Currently, she serves on the “Love Indy” committee, which is part of Plan 2020: The Bicentennial Plan for Indianapolis, a collaboration spearheaded by the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee and Department of Metropolitan Development, and King also serves on the TedxIndianapolis planning committee.

A proud graduate of Broad Ripple High School, Rebecca lives in Carmel with her husband and their pets.
