Desco Floor Systems, a polished concrete floor installer headquartered in Fortville, is under new ownership after being acquired by Sunflower Industrial in Kansas City, Kansas. Financial terms of the deal are not being disclosed.
A spokesperson for Sunflower parent KCN Companies told Inside INdiana Business that Desco employs about 75 people, all of whom are being retained in the acquisition.
“Sunflower’s goal is to grow Desco’s local workforce to support future growth,” the spokesperson said.
Sunflower gained a controlling interest in the company through the transaction, and says Desco leaders Lee Reasor and Mark Verry will continue to lead the company moving forward.
“We believe in the long-term vision and growth focus of the Sunflower Industrial team,” Reasor said in a news release. “I wanted a partner that was committed to the continued growth of the business and investing in our employees which we have found in Sunflower Industrial.”
The acquisition brings Sunflower’s total employee headcount to about 175 people. The addition of Desco marks the company’s first foray into Indiana.
Sunflower Industrial is also the parent of Epoxy Coating Specialists, also headquartered in Kansas City.
