Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne has recognized Mayor Tom Henry with the IPFW Champion award. He was honored for his involvement with the university throughout his eight-years as mayor. Mayor Henry delivered his 2010 State of the City Address from campus, welcomed the community to campus events and was part of the IPFW Sculpture with Purpose project. His office also supported the annual faculty and staff enrichment tours to help build connections between the university and companies and organizations around the state. The Award is given annually to recognize one or more people for their contributions and service as ambassadors in connecting the university with the community.
