Fort Wayne, Ind. — In March 2015, the Edward D. and Ione Auer Foundation, a private charitable foundation, made gifts to 18 local organizations. Organizations and gifts:
1. A Hope Center, support for Earn While You Learn program, $5,000
2. Audiences Unlimited, program support, $15,000
3. Community Transportation Network, support for Medical Transportation services, $10,000
4. FAME, operating support, $15,000
5. Fort Wayne Ballet, support for Title One School Adoption program, $25,000
6. Fort Wayne Habitat for Humanity, support for development at Fuller’s Landing, $10,000
7. FWCS Foundation, support for B Instrumental Program, $100,000
8. Headwaters Park Alliance, capital support for the plaza, $20,000
9. Heartland Sings, support for Octave Campaign, $25,000
10. Indiana Tech, support for performing arts series, $25,000
11. Interfaith Hospitality Network, operating support, $10,000
12. Neighborhood Health Clinics, support for dental equipment updates/upgrades, $10,000
13. Parkview Foundation, support for Healing Arts program, $50,000
14. Science Central, operating support, $25,000
15. Super Shot, support for Childhood Immunization programs, $10,000
16. The Carriage House, capital support for elevator construction, $10,000
17. The Reclamation Project, support for translation and interpretation for refugees, $10,000
18. YMCA, support for arts initiatives at Renaissance Pointe, $25,000
Additional information about the Edward D. and Ione Auer Foundation
The Auer Foundation is scheduled to be in existence until 2022 but will continue to impact the Fort Wayne community through endowments and scholarships. Grant selections are based on Ione Auer’s past giving interests and her planning documents and from knowledge of her community involvement. The co-trustees for the Auer Foundation are David Meyer, of Monarch Capital Management, and Lake City Bank. Additional organizations may also receive funding by submitting concept letters to the Auer Foundation. The Auer Foundation assets will be donated to accomplish and aid general charitable purposes to benefit the Fort Wayne community. In general, the interests of the Auer Foundation include music, arts, education, parks, and other charitable purposes.
