After selling furniture in Fort Wayne for more than 40 years, the owners of Rustic Hutch are retiring and closing their stores. Both locations are being prepared for liquidation sales. August 7, 2014

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Rustic Hutch, one of the leading retailers in

Northeast Indiana of furniture, home decor, furnishings and gifts will be closing both Fort Wayne locations after a liquidation sale. Owners Bill and Diana Bodecker will be retiring.

Rustic Hutch has been locally owned and operated since 1974. After purchasing the one-year old furniture store In Georgetown Square, Bill and Diana Bodecker decided to add candles and other home decor accessories to help the store's atmosphere. Since then, Rustic Hutch grew to offer gifts, interior design services, winning six People's Choice Interior Design awards at the Fort Wayne Parade of Homes.

Owner Bill Bodecker said, “Diana and I are grateful to the wonderful customers and staff we have had the opportunity to serve over the last 40 years, and hope they have enjoyed getting to know us as much as we have enjoyed helping them. Thanks to them, Rustic Hutch grew beyond what a newlywed farmer and teacher could have imagined.”

Rustic Hutch has worked with hundreds of varied manufacturers from CR Laine and Motioncraft to Vera Bradley, Yankee Candle and Pandora.

“Everything has a season, and Rustle Hutch's is coming to a close. Please stop by and celebrate with us and our staff as we look forward to serving you during the final weeks,” Bodecker also said.

Rustic Hutch currently operates two locations in Fort Wayne, Jefferson Pointe, 4110 W. Jefferson Blvd. and Pine Valley, 10202 Coldwater Rd.

They will be liquidating their $3 million inventory of furniture, accessories, specialty gifts and hand-knotted Oriental rugs beginning Friday, August 15'” at both locations.

The stores will be closed one week prior to prepare for the sale.
