Fort Wayne Farm Show Celebrating 30 Years

Show Director Fred Cline says the event is the largest farm show in Indiana and up to 35,000 people are expected to attend this year. He says the variety of agriculture represented in the region continues to make Fort Wayne an attractive spot for the event that draws not only regional dealers, but representatives from various manufacturers.
In an interview with Inside INdiana Business, Cline talked about some of the products that will be featured this year. "This year, drones seem to be one of the really popular items that’s being promoted. In fact, we’ve got a seminar going on about the drones this week. Between the GPS system, the drones, we’ve got tractors that are self driving, we’ve got the carts that are self driving, it’s really a completely different experience than when Jack Thill started this show 30 years ago. The technology has become just phenomenal."
The farm show will take place at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum and runs through Thursday. Cline says because of its success, he believes the show will continue for at least another 30 years.
"I was asked the other day, ‘Would Jack Thill be surprised to see what his vision grew into?’ And quite honestly, not at all," said Cline. "Jack was very much an optimist and he would’ve expected nothing less of the Fort Wayne Farm Show to grow the way that it has."
The coliseum says with the completion of its new conference center, the show will have more than 1,100 booths. The event will feature the latest farm technology, along with a large variety of farm machinery. You can learn more about the event by clicking here.
