Fort Wayne Awards Façade Improvement Grants

Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry has awarded more than $218,000 in Commercial Façade Grants to nine local organizations. The city says the recipients, all located on urban corridors currently being revitalized, will also contribute nearly $1 million in private investment.
The city says applicants are required to provide a dollar-for-dollar match in order to receive the grant. The recipients will use the funding for various façade improvement projects, including the installation of new windows, painting and adding new stone exteriors.
"Locally owned and operated businesses are essential to Fort Wayne’s economic success," said Henry. "This façade grant program helps these smaller enterprises continue to succeed and provide jobs for residents. I am encouraged by the positive momentum and investments we’re seeing on key urban corridors and throughout our community."
The grant recipients include:
- Ziegler’s Window Coverings
- Legacy Heating & Air Conditioning
- 07 Pub
- Shine and Hardin LLP
- St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store
- Headwaters Counseling
- Tom Steele Tires
- Punch Films
- Yellow Retirement Communities
The Commercial Façade Grant was established in 2008 and, through last year, has awarded $1.5 million in funding with a total of 83 projects being completed. Enhancements eligible for the program include new siding, architectural features, signage and parking improvements.
