The Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority next week will announce the name of its new fixed base operation. The facility will provide services ranging from hangar rental to aircraft de-icing. The authority approved a plan in February to provide fixed base operation services. At the time, Executive Director of Airports Scott Hinderman said the move would ensure higher levels of service and position the airport for growth. Atlantic Aviation currently operates the fixed base operation at Fort Wayne International Airport.

Construction of the facility is set to wrap up by the end of the year. The authority will begin operating the FBO in 2016. The organization says the demolition of the current FBO facility will also allow the airport terminal to expand west.

The event is set for Monday, May 18 at 4:30 p.m. at the fixed base operations facility construction site.
