The former state representative who spearheaded the French Link casino project has died. The Times-Mail in Bedford reports Jerry Denbo died Monday morning in his sleep. Denbo played a big part in pushing for a casino to come to French Lick. The venue was approved in 2003 and opened in 2006.

He served in the Statehouse from 1990-2007, representing all of Orange County and parts of Greene, Lawrence, Martin and Washington counties.
