Former Starbucks CEO to Speak at Purdue

The former chief executive officer of Starbucks Corp. (Nasdaq: SBUX) will Thursday afternoon speak to students at Purdue University. Howard Schultz, who is considering a possible run for president in 2020, will speak at Fowler Hall on the West Lafayette campus.
The speech, which is being sponsored by Purdue Student Government, will be attended by members of the university’s governance councils. A live stream of the speech will be shown in Loeb Playhouse, which will be open to students, faculty, staff and the general public.
"We think this is an incredible opportunity for Purdue students to learn more about not only Mr. Schultz but to become aware of issues affecting our country and our futures," said Aaron Banks, president of Purdue Student Government. "As leaders at Purdue, we feel it is our responsibility to offer these types of events, which are not designed as endorsements of any viewpoint."
Schultz’ speech is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
