Former IMPD Chief Joins Indy Think Tank

The former chief of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has joined an Indy-based think tank. Troy Riggs will serve as vice president of the Sagamore Institute, which was co-founded by former U.S. Senator Dan Coats.
The institute says, in his new role, Riggs will focus on developing "efficient and effective government models based on data collection and community partnerships." In a news release Friday, Riggs said, "I am honored to be part of a team addressing challenging issues facing our country."
Riggs resigned as IMPD chief in late December after almost a year on the job. He was succeeded by 26-year IMPD veteran Bryan Roach.
