Former Clorox CEO Announces $2M IU Gift

The former chief executive officer of The Clorox Co. (NYSE: CLX) and his wife have donated $2 million to Indiana University’s College of Arts and Sciences. The gift from Donald and Ellie Knauss will help the school establish new undergraduate scholarships.
The school says the Knauss Family Scholarship will target students who would be unlikely to be able to attend the Bloomington school without financial assistance. It will provide more than $150,000 annually for students accepted to the college through its direct-admit program.
Knauss earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1977 from IU Bloomington. He led The Clorox Co. from 2006-2014. His career also includes leadership positions with Coca-Cola North America (NYSE: KO) and PepsiCo Inc. (NYSE: PEP).
The gift is part of Indiana University’s $2.5 billion bicentennial fundraising campaign.
