Wisconsin-based frozen food manufacturer Echo Lakes Foods has purchased a former ice cream plant in Huntington. Unilever United States Inc. (NYSE: UN) shut down the plant over the summer and laid off approximately 140 workers. Echo Lake Foods makes frozen foods including eggs, pancakes and waffles. The company was founded in 1941 and has headquarters in Burlington, Wisconsin.

Earlier this year, Unilever said it was considering the move and transferring production at other facilities with more potential growth capacity.

The company produced Breyers and Good Humor brand ice cream products at the Huntington facility.
