Folk Fest to Provide Economic Boost

Subscribe NowA southern Indiana folk music event is expected to have a nearly $930,000 economic impact on the area. The Dubois County Visitors and Tourism Commission estimates 9,000 people will attend next month's Ferdinand Folk Festival. The group believes around 75 hotel rooms will be booked for the event.
Other organizations are planning activities in conjunction with the weekend, including a two-day bicycle touring event called the Ferdinand Folk Fest Fondo.
The commission says the celebration draws visitors from “all around the geographic area.”
