News Release
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Centers announced today that it has acquired property in the Historic Downtown District of Anderson that used to be the home of Guilkey Funeral Home. The location will undergo minor interior upgrades and be the home of affiliate Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services.
Legacy offers Cremation and Funeral Services at 25-50 percent lower costs than most funeral homes with specialization in caring for families with a loved one in Hospice.
Flanner and Buchanan Chief Operating Officer Tony Lloyd said the renovation should be complete by mid-fall.
Founded in 1881, Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Centers is owned by Bruce and Brian Buchanan. The company now owns 16 event facilities throughout central Indiana — six of which are combined with cemeteries — as well as its crematory, the Cremation Center of Indiana. Many of the centers also host weddings, reunions, business retreats and community events.
