Fishers Sports Complex Moves Forward

The Fishers City Council has approved the development of a more than 500,000 square-foot sports complex. Our partners at WTHR-TV report construction on the nearly $75 million project could begin as early as this fall.
The Fishers Sports & Entertainment Complex is set to be located near the intersection of 136th Street and Olio Road. Documents filed with the city say the the two-story facility is designed to accommodate nearly 30 different sports.
The first floor would include a 245,000 square-foot turf fieldhouse with six turf fields and a separate area for baseball training, an 87,000 square-foot space with 12 hard surface courts, as well as a commons and fitness area. The second floor will include a viewing area concourse, a walking/jogging track, family lounge and offices.
The complex will also feature a 600-space parking lot.
As part of the agreement with the developer, the city has negotiated a certain amount of hours of public recreation time available to residents for free at the complex, which will also include a 120-room hotel, according to WTHR.
