GI Bill Funds Now Accepted at Eleven Fifty Academy

Active duty members of the military and veterans are now able to use government-awarded financial aid to pay for a 12-week coding course in Fishers. Eleven Fifty Academy is now an approved organization for GI Bill funds through the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. This means the program is more accessible to service members and veterans that need financial assistance.

In addition, the academy has hired Shawn Gardner as vice president of strategy and business management. Gardner is a retired Lieutenant Colonel with more than 20 years of active duty and National Guard experience. He most recently served as the COO for Camp Atterbury. Gardner will be responsible for the development of the academy’s business strategy and for an increased focus on service members and veterans.

Eleven Fifty Academy was founded in 2014 and has since then graduated over 200 students from its coding courses. Students that finish the course have a 91 percent placement rate into middle-income technology jobs.

Eleven Fifty will be hosting an introductory coding course on Saturday, June 23. The one day course will be free to active duty military members, their spouses and dependants over the age of 18. It will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and teach students a deeper understanding of coding.
