Fishers, Citimark Proposing Tech Campus
The city of Fishers and Citimark have unveiled plans to create a tech campus for the city’s certified tech park. Citimark says it will invest $32.7 million into the campus, which includes the purchase of the Launch Fishers building.
Citimark also plan to purchase and redevelop a vacant building into a tech-ready office building. As part of the economic development agreement, Citimark will lease the Launch Fishers building back to the city for 10 years, while the city will waive all development fees. The city will also master lease 35,000 square feet of the office building for two years.
The city says Citimark will also have the opportunity to build an additional 80,000 square feet of office space.
"We are very excited about this proposal and the possibilities it opens up for the certified tech park," said Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness. "Through this partnership, we will create a campus-like environment that will continue to attract top entrepreneurial talent to our city for years to come."
In April, Fishers received the Certified Technology Park designation for the Nickel Plate District and the North East Commerce Park
The Fishers City Council will vote on the proposal at its next meeting on Monday. The city says if the offer is approved, the Fishers Redevelopment Commission will also have to approve the sale and lease of the Launch Fishers building and the master lease of the redeveloped office building.
