First Lady Karen Pence has awarded grants to 57 organizations and charities as part of the Indiana First Lady’s Charitable Foundation. The foundation, established in 2013, aims to assist families and children throughout the state.
Pence presented a check to representatives from each organization ranging from $500 to $1,000 from the foundation. Tuesday’s presentation event was the seventh since the inaugural event in 2014.
"Whether helping a child develop a love for reading or supporting families in need or encouraging a child to go further in the arts, these organizations are the backbone and the heart of our communities," said Pence. "They represent the very best of what it means to be a Hoosier, and we thank them for their service."
