Felicia Brokaw the new commander of Camp Atterbury and Muscatatuck Urban Training Center in Edinburgh. Brokaw, who succeeds Col. John Silva in the position, is the first female leader of the training sites.
In her new role, Brokaw will lead approximately 360 troops between the two sites, which create and operate tailored training and testing environments for various military branches and government agencies.
"I look forward to working with the command to ensure that we are ready, trained and equipped to execute any mission across the full spectrum of operations," said Brokaw in her ceremony speech Saturday. "To the civilians and service members of Camp Atterbury and Muscatatuck, you are our most precious resource and our best hope for mission success."
The ceremony was led by Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Courtney Carr, who called Brokaw’s appointment a "historic day for Camp Atterbury."
