Firefighter Conference Kicks Off in Indy

The Fire Department Instructors Conference brings more than 32,000 representatives from fire departments throughout the world and its economic impact has been pegged at more than $30 million.
The conference features meetings, workshops, tours and hands-on training for firefighters. Attendees will also be able to purchase the latest technology, including fire trucks. It takes up nearly 750,000 square feet of exhibit space, including the entire Indiana Convention Center and the floor of Lucas Oil Stadium.
The conference has been held in Indianapolis since 1995 is scheduled to continue through 2023. Visit Indy says it will be of the most-attended conventions hosted by the city this year, behind Gen Con, the Performance Racing Industry trade show, and the National FFA convention.
