The Anderson Redevelopment Commission has given final approval for up to $3.5 million in incentives for an Italian manufacturer planning to begin operations in the city. Our partners at The Herald Bulletin report Sirmax North America plans to create around 50 jobs. Sirmax makes plastic compounds and resins for the appliance and automotive industries. The company hopes to begin Anderson operations in October. The project includes a $26 million investment.

The commission also gave final approval to include the project in Anderson's redevelopment plan.

The Herald Bulletin says the jobs will pay an average of $40,000 per year.
