A Greenwood-based manufacturing startup is requesting tax abatement from the city on plans that could create jobs. Midwest Purification LLC wants to invest $6 million into establishing a production facility and hire up to 50 employees within three years. The majority of the company's investment would go toward purchasing and installing machinery.

In a filing with the city, Midwest Purification estimates by the end of 2017, it could pump a total of nearly $1.4 million into workers' salaries.

The operation would be located in an industrial warehouse in Southtech Park.
