Shelbyville-based Knauf Insulation Inc. has announced plans to expand its Indiana operations.
The company said it is adding a dedicated blowing wool line at its Shelbyville fiberglass insulation manufacturing plant, though a spokesperson declined to disclose the financial investment in the expansion.
Knauf currently employs about 750 people in Shelbyville, though it was not clear if any new jobs would be added with the expansion.
“The demand for new homes and repair and remodel projects coupled with fast-growing consumer interest in improved energy efficiency and enhanced indoor air quality demonstrates the opportunity for market growth,” Matt Parrish, president and CEO of Knauf North America, said in a news release.
The new line is expected to be operational in the second quarter of 2026.
Knauf Insulation is a subsidiary of Germany-based building materials manufacturer Knauf Group. The parent company employs more than 40,000 people across 300 production facilities in 90 countries.
