FFA Receives Endowment Funding

The Indianapolis-based National FFA Organization has received a three-year, $1.5 million grant. The funding from Lilly Endowment Inc. will support the organization’s annual national convention, which returns to Indianapolis this fall.
The organization announced last year that it would return the convention from Louisville to Indianapolis beginning this year. The contract runs through 2024. The convention draws more than 60,000 people from throughout the country.
National FFA Organization Chief Executive Officer Dwight Armstrong says the funds "will help us ensure that our conventions are premier experiences for our members while making a greater impact on Indianapolis and the state of Indiana." He says the conventions are an "essential component" of how the FFA grows leaders and strengthens the national agriculture industry.,
The 2016 National FFA Convention & Expo is October 19-22 at downtown venues including Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Lucas Oil Stadium and the Indiana Convention Center.
