Fever, Salesforce Detail Sponsorship
The Indiana Fever has announced a multi-year sponsorship with Salesforce (NYSE: CRM), which will become the team’s new jersey partner. Beginning this season, the Salesforce logo will be prominently displayed across the front of Fever jerseys. The team says the deal is an expansion of a multi-platform agreement between the tech company and Pacers Sports & Entertainment announced last fall.
In an interview with Inside INdiana Business, Fever Head Coach Pokey Chatman said the commitment from Salesforce is "tremendous."
"(When) you think about the impact that this company makes on the world, it’s global and often times people don’t think about the global impact of these professional players," said Chatman. "They take their talents to other parts of the country and the world, but when you think about the equality that this place stands for in the empowerment of women in top positions, it just seems like a natural marriage."
The equality factor was also a point made by Bob Stutz, chief executive officer of Salesforce Marketing Cloud in Indianapolis.
"The equality of every human being is a core value at Salesforce—that’s why we’ve taken strong positions on education, equal rights, equal pay," Stutz said in a news release. "The WNBA is an embodiment of equality and the Indiana Fever are an ideal partner for us to support women’s leadership, the Indianapolis community and our shared values."
The Fever enters its 20th season next month. As part of the sponsorship deal, Salesforce will also be the presenting sponsor of the Fever’s Pride Night, which is scheduled for June 9.
