Tucker: Home Sales, Prices Climb in Central Indiana
F.C. Tucker Co. Inc. in Indianapolis says central Indiana home sales jumped nearly 15 percent last month, compared to October of last year. The average home price year-to-date also increased 6 percent in the 15-county region to $199,193. Chief Executive Officer Jim Litten says the October sales increase was the largest in any month this year. He adds "the housing market continues to offer sellers less competition and buyers a variety of price points for their new home across central Indiana."
The independently-owned real estate firm says 2,690 homes were sold during October. Hamilton County ranked number one in central Indiana for average home price at $301,936. Boone County, at $299,472, was second-highest in central Indiana.
Inventory throughout the 15 counties is at 8,050 homes and listings fell 17 percent.
