Expedient to Expand Carmel Data Center

Pittsburgh-based tech company Expedient has announced plans to expand its data center in Carmel. The company will invest $4.5 million to add 3,500 square feet of computer room space and make several equipment upgrades.
Expedient did not state whether the expansion would result in additional jobs. The cloud computing and data center infrastructure as a service provider says some of the planned upgrades include the replacement of two uninterruptable power supply systems, new computer room air conditioning units and power distribution units, as well as design improvements and additional cooling capacity for the HVAC system.
"We’re proud of our continued growth in the Indianapolis area," said Jim Kothe, regional vice president for Expedient. "Our investment in the Indianapolis data center demonstrates our absolute commitment to supporting our customers’ evolving needs, and further solidifies our position as an industry-leading regional provider of IaaS solutions."
The project, expected to be complete in November, is Expedient’s third expansion in Carmel since 2013. The projects represent a combined investment of $14.5 million.
