Expedient Completes Carmel Data Center Expansion

Pittsburgh-based Expedient has completed a $4.5 million expansion of its data center in Carmel. The tech company says the project included an additional 3,500 square feet of computer room space and a variety of equipment upgrades.
The company, which provides data center infrastructure-as-a-service and cloud computing services, says the expansion allowed for the replacement of two Flywheel UPS systems, the installation of new computer room air conditioning and power distribution units, as well as design improvements and additional cooling capacity for the facility’s existing HVAC system.
Expedient says the upgrades will result in a higher level of redundancy for its customers.
"With our second expansion in Indianapolis, we are demonstrating our continued commitment to providing our customers with leading IaaS and cloud solutions in a premier data center facility," said Jim Kothe, regional vice president for Expedient.
When the project was first announced in August, the company said the expansion is the third at the Carmel location since 2013. Expedient has invested $14.5 million since that time in expansions and upgrades.
