In a constantly evolving world, where challenges arise daily and situations change quickly, this timeless truth remains: everyone has something to learn, and everyone has something to teach.

This enduring belief fuels Leadership Indianapolis. We actively develop, convene and connect community leaders. This guiding principle propels our mission to cultivate a community of leaders who are not only knowledgeable but also deeply committed to the growth and vitality of our city.

Our vision is embodied by collaborative leaders who understand that leadership is not a static destination but a continuous journey. Leaders do not have all the answers—they leverage the collective wisdom of a diverse community to find innovative solutions to complex problems. Effective leaders understand their strength comes from their ability to foster collaboration and ignite the potential of those around them.

Recognizing the inherent value of a variety of lived experiences is essential, especially in a society often marked by division. When we approach leadership with this mindset, we create an inclusive environment where diverse voices are not just heard but celebrated. This approach encourages empathy, collaboration and dismantles barriers that could divide us.

Perhaps most importantly, this mindset calls upon us to respond to new environments and ideas with curiosity instead of judgment. It challenges us to actively seek out experiences that expand our horizons and broaden our perspectives. Through this, we unlock the potential for personal growth and collective progress.

I invite you to embrace this transformative journey with Leadership Indianapolis through our LEAD program, held at Broadway United Methodist Church on Oct. 4, 11 and 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.

LEAD isn’t just another training. LEAD is a three-day experience that immerses participants in a vibrant community of passionate individuals. You will be welcomed as someone who wants to learn and as someone others can learn from. Together we will explore skills that make collaborative leadership a reality, not just an aspiration.

As we navigate the challenges and opportunities before us, remember that leadership is not about standing alone at the front, but rather standing together in a circle. In that circle, everyone has a seat, everyone has a voice, and everyone has something valuable to learn and to teach.
