Event to Promote Manufacturing Industry

The event will take place at the Amatrol Inc. headquarters in Jeffersonville.

One Southern Indiana will host an event Wednesday morning in celebration of National Manufacturing Day. The organization’s Metro Manufacturing Alliance is partnering with businesses from the region to discuss the "needs and possibilities" in the manufacturing sector.

The organization says it is placing an emphasis on students to educate them about the opportunities the region’s manufacturing market has to offer. The press conference will be held at Jeffersonville-based Amatrol Inc. and will be followed by a tour of the facility for students from throughout the region.

The event is part of a five-day celebration in which more than 900 students from four Indiana counties will attend tours at 26 regional manufacturers. The press conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
