The Education-Employer Forum will feature resources for apprenticeships, certifications, financial aid and education opportunities.
It will include panel and roundtable discussions as well as information booths.
The event partners include Greater Fort Wayne Inc., IPFW, Ivy Tech Community College-Northeast, Manchester University, Northeast Indiana Building Trades and Northeast Indiana Works.
During a news conference Thursday, Henry said "although unemployment is down and we’re experiencing positive momentum in Fort Wayne, we know there are people in our community who are having a difficult time finding a job. We must be willing to address this challenge to ensure all residents have a chance to succeed. Partnerships with our local colleges and universities and employers can improve residents’ lives and well-being. By investing in our future, we’ll enhance our ability to provide opportunities for successful jobs."
The Education-Employer Forum is set for September 17 at the Public Safety Academy on the Ivy Tech South Campus in Fort Wayne.
