Evansville-based health care insurance planning firm Move Health is growing its footprint with the acquisition of San Francisco-based Caribou, which has developed a software platform designed to help financial advisors plan for current and future health care costs.
Financial terms of the deal are not being disclosed.
Move Health said in a news release that combining the two companies’ strengths into one health care planning solution will “increase the capabilities of advisors’ financial planning offerings to attract and retain clients in an increasingly competitive market.”
Move Health co-founder Cole Craven declined to say how many Caribou employees would join his team, or if any jobs would be negatively affected. However, he did tell Inside INdiana Business that Move Health’s employee headcount is expected to grow to 32 team members in 2025.
The company did note that Caribou founder and CEO Christine Simone would be joining the leadership team at Move Health, though her exact title was not provided.
“This isn’t just about two organizations coming together,” Craven said in the release. “It’s about the opportunities we will create to better serve financial advisors, and their clients, with healthcare planning. We believe this partnership will be transformative for everyone involved.”
Move Health said the two companies are working quickly to integrate their two products for the customers to use. The combined platform, the companies said, will allow financial planners to help their clients navigate the health care planning process all the way through enrollment in the health care plan of their choice.
“Caribou was created to provide clarity for clients as they navigate complex decisions about their health insurance, and I’ve never felt more confident in our ability to deliver on that promise than in partnership with Move Health,” Simone said in written remarks.
