Evansville, Ind. — The Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville would like to invite the community to join in the official launch of The Station, Evansville's premier coworking space. The Station offers local innovators a contemporary, professional, open desk, work space with opportunities to collaborate and network with like minds.
Located inside Innovation Pointe, a business incubator in Downtown Evansville; The Station offers 24 hour (secure) access, high speed internet connection, use of conference rooms, essential operating services, convenient parking, and access to counseling and mentoring services.
“The Station is one more node in the entrepreneurial network that we are establishing; a network that includes experienced mentoring, training and development programs, incubation space, and events to foster innovation-based startup activity,” said Growth Alliance President, Deborah Dewey.
The official launch will be an open house on Wednesday, April 23rd from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The Station is located on the second floor of Innovation Pointe , in Downtown Evansville. A short announcement will take place at 5:00 p.m. Anyone with an interest in the space is welcome to attend.
Ten months ago, the idea for coworking space was brought to the Growth Alliance's attention after listening to local entrepreneurs discuss the trending concept at a monthly Tech on Tap meeting. It was apparent after the meeting that this type of space was wanted and needed for the innovators in our community. The Growth Alliance partnered with Tech on Tap organizer, Drew Peyronnin, to accelerate the project and make it a reality.
“An unmistakable trend toward smaller, highly innovative, more collaborative businesses is emerging. The Station affords the individual entrepreneur access to business class amenities, while fostering a diverse highly collaborative community with other co-workers. Over the past ten months a core group, who had been working to launch The Station as a private enterprise, along with more than 40 Tech on Tap members have joined with the Growth Alliance to design and launch this foundational part of our Innovation Community as a model of public/private collaboration,” added Peyronnin.
Supported by the Launch Indiana initiative, The Station will become part of a network of coworking spaces across the state of Indiana that will have reciprocity. Members of one co-working space will be able to use similar spaces in other Indiana communities (example: Launch Fishers) while traveling for business.
The Growth Alliance would like to thank to OFS Furniture and the Romain College of Business at the University of Southern Indiana for their financial support in making The Station possible at Innovation Pointe.
