Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union Touts Growth

A financial institution based in southwest Indiana is planning to expand outside the state. Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union, which currently operates a dozen locations in Indiana and Kentucky, says it plans to open four new branches in Kentucky and Tennessee this year. The new locations are planned for Washington, Fort Branch and Bowling Green, Kentucky, as well as Franklin, Tennessee.
Officials say ETFCU is now Indiana’s second-largest credit union in terms of membership, adding more than 26,000 members in 2017. Last year, it says, the credit union’s net worth jumped $22.3 million, the highest since being established in 1936.
Chief Executive Officer Bill Schirmer says "our focus continues to remain on our financial return back to the membership. Looking to the future, our focus remains on our members. We will continue to provide the same standard of high quality service while researching new product and service innovations to enhance our value and convenience offerings."
ETFCU has over 500 employees in the Tri-State also operates Liberty Financial-branded outlets in Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi.
