Evansville Company to Renovate Former Brewery

The new plan replaces the current version

The city of Evansville and the Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville have announced Old Evansville Brewery Development LLC will renovate and revitalize the former Sterling Brewery site. The city says the company will add mixed-use office space.

“I am extremely pleased developers have found a creative new use for a building that has played such an important role in Evansville’s history. The Old Evansville Brewery Development is a tangible show of confidence in the economic vitality of our city and optimism for our future,” Mayor Lloyd Winnecke said.

Old Evansville Brewery Development Owner Jack Rogers purchased the Sterling Brewery Site in 1998.

“We are excited about the redevelopment of the former Sterling Brewery into commercial and professional offices. Located at one of the highest traffic intersections in Evansville, it is now an attractive and important gateway to Evansville’s downtown,” Rogers said.

He says Sterling Square is under construction to accommodate new tenants like SS&C Technology Holdings, Inc. Officials say the company plans to lease nearly 90,000-square-feet of the renovated facility. SS&C Technologies plans to add 360 jobs over the next five years.

“We appreciate the collaboration and support from the city and state and remain focused on expanding our footprint here in Evansville. Our new office at Sterling Square allows us to scale for years to come,” SS&C Technologies, Inc. Director Kyle Fields said. 

Old Evansville Brewery Development says it plans to invest more than $1 million in Sterling Square over the next five years.
