Evansville Approves Water Treatment Facility Plan

Evansville’s Downtown Design Review Committee has approved a plan for the city’s new water treatment facility. The newly-designed plans call for the facility to be built on the site currently occupied by the Kids Kingdom playground.
Plans for the downtown area include a new Mickey’s Playground, which will replace Kids Kingdom, a new splash pad, and new restrooms. The area will also feature an overlook point along the Ohio River with a public space above the new treatment facility. Designs also include more kids programming and exhibitions at the Evansville Museum, along with improvements to the greenway trail and added parking.
Construction is set to begin next year.
