(Nasdaq: ESCA) has acquired Goalsetter Systems Inc. from Co-Line Manufacturing in Iowa. Escalade says the deal for the basketball goal manufacturer is part of an ongoing strategy to strengthen its position in established and emerging sports.
The companies are not releasing financial terms of the deal.
Escalade says the acquisition puts two of the leading brands in the industry under one roof: Goalsetter, along with its own Goalrilla brand. The Evansville company also says the deal gives it access to Goalsetters technology portfolio, including its height adjustment and ground anchor hinge systems.
In July, Escalade announced the acquisition of an Arizona company that makes pickleball equipment. It also added the Pickleball Now brand to its portfolio last year.
In 2014, Escalade made multiple moves to streamline its business. The company combined its finance and accounting departments and sold its information security and print finishing businesses.
