The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded a more than $220 million contract boost to ERAPSCO of Columbia City. The contract calls for the production of 18,000 sonobuoys for the U.S. Navy.

ERAPSCO will perform work in De Leon Springs, Florida and Columbia City.

The funding is in addition to a previously-awarded contract for sonobuoys to support training, peacetime operations and testing for the Naval Munitions Requirements Process for the Navy.

Lockheed Martin will also perform work in Virginia and Florida for the project.

Work is expected to be completed in March 2024.

The Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Maryland is the contracting activity.
