Financial details of the deal were not disclosed, however the environmental consulting firm says it will keep the entire VPS staff on during the transition and plans to expand the VPS workforce in the future.
VPS, which is also based in Indianapolis, provides radon and vapor intrusion mitigation services. EnviroForensics says the acquisition will allow the firm to better serve its clients.
"The vapor intrusion mitigation approaches designed and installed by VPS have always been exactly what we’ve needed for our sites with VI concerns," said Megan Hamilton, director of vapor intrusion and risk assessment at EnviroForensics. "When dealing with VI at hazardous waste sites like we do, a regular radon-style system just isn’t good enough, and VPS has understood that. I am extremely excited to have that expertise on our team."
EnviroForensics says the deal builds upon a banner 2016. The firm celebrated its 20th anniversary, added more than a dozen jobs and saw record revenues. The company also celebrated the opening of its new downtown Indianapolis headquarters.
A spokesperson says while the firm does have plans for further expansion, it is not yet known how many jobs will be added.
